By way of introduction, my name is Jean'e Freeman, owner of Total Body Fitness.

I became involved in the health and fitness arena over 20 years ago, while serving in the United States Air Force and after the birth of my first child.  What transpired were several things - I became a sponge regarding the human body, competed in bodybuilding competitions, began training individuals with the same interests, obtained my degree in Exercise Science and then became a Certified Fitness Trainer.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1995, I went back to college to continue my education in Environmental Technology.  I then went on to Cosmetology School and opened a local salon called "A Perfect Ten".  At that time, I had put the personal training aspects of my business on hold.

In 1999, the health and fitness bug hit me again.  I sold my "A Perfect Ten" business and renamed it "Total Body Fitness".  I took some courses to obtain updated information in this field and began training once again!

In 2001, I began working with kids with disabilities, both on an educational level and a fitness level.  Again, I became a sponge regarding this arena, both on a physical and developmental level.  This led me to become an independent contractor with the State of Arizona's Department of Developmental Disabilities, which continues to this day.

My vast interest in the human body led me to yet another endeavor which I have integrated into my current business practice.  I attended a year long massage therapy program at the "Desert Institute of the Healing Arts" here in Tucson, AZ.  This school is considered one of the top schools in the nation for bodywork.  Course electives included movement integration, stretching and joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, massage for people with disabilities, and an externship with Health South Rehabilitation Facility.

I continue my association with the Cortiva Institute - Desert Institute of the Healing Arts as a faculty member teaching in their academics department.  I am proud to be a member of the International Sports Sciences Association, Reebok Alliance, American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), Touch for Health Education, Human Kinetics, International Association of Reiki Professionals,  International Association of Healthcare Practitioners, Life Extension Foundation, International Association of Integrative Medicine (IAIM), and last but not least, the ARC (Association for Retarded Children) at the local, state and national chapter levels.

In summary, I am a bodywork practitioner and someone with an immense interest in working with all people including those having physical, cognitive and emotional challenges (kids and adults).

Using the different modalities that I have been gifted with, my goals are to be able to assess and understand your personal needs, so that I can help you integrate the maintenance of overall good health in your life, from the inside out.
